Every wavy wall started as a bowed stud. Drywall follows whatever it's screwed to, which is why Fort Wayne Drywall Co. frames as well as hangs and finishes — when the same company owns the wall from layout line to final sanding, there's no gap between trades where straightness gets lost.
Framing Work We Do
- Basement layouts — our bread and butter in Fort Wayne: perimeter walls with correct standoff from concrete, moisture-smart detailing, and partitions for bedrooms, baths, and rec rooms.
- New interior walls — splitting a bonus room, adding an office, or creating a bedroom (with the egress conversation handled honestly).
- Metal stud framing — standard for commercial work and the smart pick against basement concrete, where steel won't wick moisture, twist, or feed mold.
- Soffits & chases — straight, level boxes around ductwork, beams, and plumbing that read as architecture, not afterthought.
- Furring & ceiling framing — flattening wavy old ceilings, furring out masonry, and framing dropped or tray details.
- Commercial build-outs — partition walls for offices, retail, and shops, framed fast so the rest of the schedule holds.
Wood or Steel? Depends on the Wall
We'll recommend the material the wall actually wants. Wood is easy to modify, familiar to every later trade, and right wherever cabinets, shelves, or TV mounts need solid bite. Steel comes out of the bundle dead straight, weighs half as much, and shrugs off the damp that makes wood move against basement concrete. Most of our basement finishes end up hybrid — steel at the foundation walls, wood where fixtures need backing — because that's what performs.
Framing Done by Drywall People
Because the board is our end product, we frame for it: stud layout that lands sheet edges, backing wherever an edge will need support, crowns all turned the same way, and a straightedge check before we call the skeleton finished. Hanging crews shouldn't have to fight the framing — and when we frame it, they don't.
One Estimate, Stud to Paint-Ready
Most customers have us take the project straight through installation and finishing: one written price, one schedule, one crew accountable for the finished wall. No finger-pointing between framer and drywaller, because they ride in the same truck.
